Instrumentals

I was very fortunate to have been able to learn to play a musical instrument at school. The Peripatetic Brass Teacher gave me the opportunity to play a Cornet. We had a school band and a Town Band that I joined and, with daily practice, I became proficient enough to become a professional player as soon as I left Secondary School. My first audition piece was The Carnival of Venice by Jean-Baptiste Arban when I auditioned for the Scots Guards Band in London. Naturally, I was asked to play two of the more technical varations!

I passed the audition and enjoyed some years performing in the Scots Guards band which was based in London. During that time I also freelanced as a trumpet/flugelhorn player which led to full-time self-employment.

I often get booked to play fanfares. Below are a few examples.

I also offer a bespoke service and can compose you a personalised fanfare to suit your special occasion.

This is one of the popular trumpet tunes for weddings. Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke.
