This afternoon, I made my monthly visit to BROOKLANDS for a wonderful musical afternoon. BROOKLANDS is an award winning centre near Norwich and I am very lucky to have received regular bookings since I first performed there a few years ago.
My spirits are always heightened when the audience respond to the sounds and rhythms which excite their memories, feelings and thoughts.
This afternoon there seemed to be a very special atmosphere in the room. The vibrations bounced around the generous space touching all thirty or so of us as we shared the harmonious spirit of joy, as expressed through my performance of a variety of songs and instrumentals.
The high points of the afternoon were the dances the audience participation section and the waving arms of the finale section. I mention the dancing because of a charming lady who got up-despite being unable to walk-so that we could waltz together to Moon River.
My audience participation section was particularly special today as one of the visitors, Sammy, a music teacher, assisted me by playing ukulele and singing. We also duetted a scat chorus with me on cornet during Lady is a Tramp.
I am so grateful to have opportunities to share the joys of music with lovely people wherever I go.
Thank you๐๐บ
